When I Glow Up began with a simple but powerful idea—to ensure that no young person feels left out of important life experiences due to a lack of resources. In its earliest days, this work took place at Green Spaces coworking community center, with just a few packs of hair, a small setup, and a group of people eager to give back. Even then, there was an undeniable outpouring of support—community members showing up, offering their time, resources, and care without hesitation.
What started small quickly revealed something much bigger.
Built from lived experience and a deep understanding of the challenges many families face, When I Glow Up grew into a community-driven movement rooted in care, culture, and connection. That early support laid the foundation for what exists today—a collective effort to restore dignity, build confidence, and create access to opportunities that support young people’s overall well-being.
Today, When I Glow Up is powered by a collective of community members, volunteers, vendors, and partners who all play a vital role in bringing this work to life. From those providing services and resources, to those offering their time, skills, and support behind the scenes—each contribution helps create meaningful, impactful experiences for youth and families.
This is more than a team—it is a shared effort fueled by purpose, generosity, and a belief in what’s possible when a community comes together. Because when people show up with intention and care, young people don’t just receive support—they feel it. And that feeling has the power to change everything.

As one of the first people to believe in the vision, Diana has played a key role in shaping When I Glow Up since day one. Her creative insight and passion for community care have helped bring our event to life in meaningful, beautiful ways. She oversees our event layout, décor, and day-of experience, ensuring every space feels intentional and inviting.

Angel joined our team with enthusiasm and grace, ready to support however she could. With a deep heart for service, she now leads volunteer coordination, helping us build a strong, reliable team that keeps the day running smoothly. Her ability to connect with people and organize logistics makes her role essential to our success.

Clarinda is the newest member of the When I Glow Up team, bringing ambition, reliability, and a strong commitment to community impact. She serves as our “boots on the ground” in the Chicagoland area, helping expand our reach and strengthen connections with local youth and families. Her dedication plays a key role in growing our presence beyond Denver.
